For more than 135 years, Croon Elektrotechniek has been a fixture at the top of the Dutch installation industry. The company is responsible for the complete electrotechnical installations in thousands of buildings, countless ships, many industrial complexes and tens of thousands of projects across all kinds of market sectors. The company is part of TBI, one of the leading real estate, construction and technology groups in the Netherlands. With around 2,300 employees, Croon Elektrotechniek is at the foundation of many technological developments. This is also the reason they started with Business Intelligence using QlikView.
The case for Croon Elektrotechniek
The company runs large projects that naturally carry large risks as well. Insight into management information is therefore crucial. Bram Moerer, IT Manager at Croon Elektrotechniek, explains why the company went looking for a new Business Intelligence solution: "Our current package, SAP BPC, part of SAP for reporting, no longer delivered what we wanted. The functionality was insufficient, and on top of that, management wanted to make management information visually clear. In particular this wish, the visual insight, was our main trigger to look for a new solution."

With Qlik, results versus KPIs are visible weekly, and often even daily, instead of monthly or quarterly. This means employees are closer to the process. Because they're closer to it, it's also a lot easier to quickly adjust the progress of processes and projects.
Unexpected insights
Using Qlik's associative data indexing engine, users can analyze data and discover relationships within it. This makes it possible, for example, to look at the relationship between order intake and hired staff. This creates new insights that people wouldn't otherwise have had.
