Eigen Haard is one of the largest housing associations in the Netherlands, active in eight municipalities in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. With almost 600 employees, Eigen Haard has been developing, renting out and maintaining affordable housing since the early 20th century. They had an application developed to support the real estate valuation process. This is an important business process carried out annually to determine the value of real estate. The valuation is important for the annual accounts and therefore for Eigen Haard's financial position. On behalf of Eigen Haard, E-mergo developed a custom application for this using Mendix.

The result
Automation
Several steps in the process that used to be done manually are now automated by the application. This applies, among other things, to running simulations (data checks) and keeping the log in the audit trail. This saves a lot of time and prevents errors.
Ease of use
Users can configure the transformation rules and data validations within the application, which means it can be adjusted to some extent without support from the IT department.
Management
E-mergo takes care of managing and further developing the application. This means Eigen Haard is assured of support, and the continuity of the process is guaranteed. That's important, because we expect the application to need adjustments every year due to changes in regulations.
Housing association Eigen Haard improves its valuation process with Mendix
Eigen Haard's valuation process consists of several steps, including generating standard reports, exporting data from source systems, and processing data using the SAS DI (Data Integration Studio) tool. In the old situation, SAS DI was used to merge, transform and prepare the various datasets. Because SAS DI was being phased out, Eigen Haard had to look for an alternative solution. After thorough research, it turned out that, given the specific nature of the requested solution, no usable standard software was available on the market. For that reason, a selection process was carried out with various low-code platforms, and Eigen Haard chose Mendix. Mendix meets all of Eigen Haard's requirements, which E-mergo applied in the new application.
