Optimum Group is an international group of printing companies specializing in printing product labels. The company prints labels, stickers and flexible packaging with logos, promotional text and nutritional information. The company now has seventeen locations, with new ones still being added. The company was looking for a partner to help set up a data warehouse. After talks with several parties, E-mergo emerged as the favorite.
TimeXtender gives Optimum Group insight into rapidly growing amounts of data
“We were looking for a partner who could help us with a data warehouse solution and who could handle both the installation and further setup. E-mergo was one of the parties we invited,” says Rob Beernink. He is responsible for all ICT within Optimum Group, including the data analytics team. “Getting data consistent in the system and translating it into usable information, that was our biggest challenge. Moreover, it has to be easy to connect a new location,” Rob says about the requirements for the solution. The company ultimately chose a combination of Microsoft Azure as a cloud solution, TimeXtender for data management and Power BI for data visualization in reports.
The Result
TimeXtender
TimeXtender replaces the existing data warehouse that was developed on SQL Server. TimeXtender is much clearer and more visual than the manually built data warehouse.
Azure
Azure was a logical choice because it's scalable. Given the pace at which new companies join Optimum Group, this was necessary. That way you can scale up quickly.
Power BI
Because Power BI pulls all data directly from TimeXtender, you always see up-to-date figures and everyone has access to a single version of the truth. The metrics can be trusted and there's no longer any logic embedded in the dashboards; this is now centralized in TimeXtender.
