SBNS was established to investigate NS (Dutch Railways) sites for soil contamination that occurred before NS became an independent company. Where necessary, it also carries out the soil remediation. From Utrecht, SBNS remediates 50 to 60 NS sites annually and also carries out 200 soil investigation projects. This makes it one of the largest remediation organizations in the Netherlands.
Project control for SBNS
Challenges- Better insight into the current progress of remediation projects to stay within the project budget
- Reducing administrative costs by making better use of existing data and information
- Better data control
- Better structure within data flows
The Result
Implemented across the entire organization
With the self-service BI solution in the form of QlikView, everyone has access to the data relevant to them, to analyze it independently. For example, project managers are now able to get a much faster overview of activities and costs per project.
One version of the truth
With QlikView, SBNS's existing systems have been unlocked, including the financial package Fimacs and the project management software package Primavera. Because all data from the various systems is available in QlikView, Program Management can more quickly check the completeness and accuracy of data across multiple systems.
Faster answers
With QlikView, SBNS is now able to get answers much faster than before through dynamic analyses. Forecasts can now be adjusted in time so that SBNS more easily stays within the remediation budget. Project managers can now adjust budgets monthly to keep an eye on the annual budget.
“QlikView makes managing projects easier — with fewer actions, more answers, without limits. QlikView is quick to access, dynamic and very user-friendly.”
